Ethos

Bringing you a comprehensive look at the global DIY music scene via the tastes of our staff writers and weekly contributors;  a modest attempt at notating and preserving a young music culture rooted in an international community;  a place for you, the reader, to get a daily snapshot of the evolving endeavors in an honest market, separate from what is traditionally referred to as “the industry”.

Synopsis

A musician’s career rarely begins with a record deal and formal release.  Instead, it is often born in the worldwide, self-publishing atmosphere that is the Internet.  Dingus is an international, cross-genre DIY music blog dedicated to covering these embryonic stages of audio growth. We work hard to bring you completely original content from the farthest corners of the world as well as our own backyard- Brooklyn.

Submissions

We welcome all DIY submissions.  Email a bandcamp or soundcloud link with your music to dingus.tips at gmail dot com. Please do not add us to your press lists.  We appreciate personally written emails. Sending us a physical copy of your album will put you in contention for our Let’s Get Physical weekly column as well as on the top of our listening pile, we appreciate your generosity. [Henry Schiller / 3065 Steinway Street, apt 4 / Astoria, NY 11103]

We have a long list of bookmarks to get through; do not be discouraged if you do not see your music posted immediately.  [we appreciate your patience].
