Mean Tom

Mean Tom by Teen Mom   (Washington, DC)

The remnants of a teenager are strewn about a bedroom. A globe, jeans, guitar, telescope. Sometimes when you look at album art you can tell exactly what it is you’re going to be listening to. Teen Mom’s Mean Tom was one of these instances. Its the sort of album you find yourself listening to at 4 in the morning, possibly to help get you through a sleepless night. The beachy tracks are all soothing, its their fuzzy and minimal sound. Teen Mom are not overwhelming, you can just listen and not feel the need to have to dissect any cryptic messages. Its simple and I like that. Especially at 4 in the morning. Lovecat

You and Me

‘You and Me’ by Teen Mom   (November 3, 2011)

It’s a common enough move to pair soothing vocals with melodic guitar lines, but for Teen Mom, the perfection is in the spacing.  Here we find pleasure in the chorus/verse interplay, the guitar solo, and the interstitial instrumental moments.  Noted as the Teen Mom EP “leak”, we hope to see more from the band soon.
