Girlfriend by We Are Trees (March 3, 2011)
For the past year or so I have been really loving the sounds coming out of Virgina Beach. We Are Trees are that perfect of example of lo-fi/bedroom pop. Their EP, Girlfriend, holds bittersweet songs titled ‘Teenage Heartbreak’ and ‘I Don’t Believe In Love’. Girlfriend is a remarkably catchy and relatable EP. I see myself playing ‘I Don’t Believe In Love’ over and over, the lyrics about how it all starts out fine and then goes haywire. We Are Trees set these emotions perfectly in place and its quite delightful to listen to. Lovecat
