April Fools.  It’s my birthday month and I’m happy to announce that we’ll be coming back hard (super hard) with Dingus Events on April 19th.  Guess who turns twenty four a midnight (4/20). Thanks to Freecandy for hosting- ya family. [deets/fb event/fyer later today].  But, far more important is another installment of Soulbound.  These artists are among the modest and generous and therefor they present to you, via our humble blog, Soulbound Volume Eighteen; a completely free complilation show casing this scene; whatever thye grey amorphous blob is.  You might recognize a few of our all stars and why the fuck not, every time I get that Feedly update on the drop of a new track theres a little pool of drool forming in my mouth, but you dare miss out on the newcomers.  We’ve gotten back on our unlucky thirteen track listing; just tryna make your day alittle better.   Thank you everyone! For the first time, Soulbound has broken format.  For the short month of February, we’re bringing you a slightly shortened compilation- ten tracks, pure gold.  We welcome a completely fresh assortment of artists that caught our eye this winter and as we continue to develop this lengthy case study of the international DIY scene it seems appropriate now to announce officially our new website (coded by the masterful Robert Thompson) and the first edition of our quarterly printed zine.  We’re going for the jugular, get your turtlenecks. After a slight delay due to the wrath of mother nature, I am proud to bring you Soulbound Volume 15Let me tell you, this one was really worth the wait. This is the first compilation released since our newest writer, Ashley Canino, joined the team and thanks to her there are quite a number of gems that you are going to become familiar with. So please, cozy up on your comfiest chair, grab a coffee, sit back and enjoy the latest picks from the Dingus staff. @LeahLovecat

Soulbound V.14

Soulbound Volume Fourteen by Various Artists   (New York. New York) *

I can genuinely say that I am exceedingly excited to expose you to the next Soulbound compilation. I had the pleasure of sifting through what was probably one of the best month’s of music, in my opinion. Maybe it’s the cold weather pushing out these warm and full tracks, or maybe we just got lucky. Either way, it was an honor to get to listen to these bands and an even greater honor to have them on V. 14. So come in from the blustery elements and enjoy some of our favorites from Septemeber. Soulbound V.11

Soulbound Volume Eleven by Various Artists   (New York, New York)

For the first time ever, our Soulbound series is recalling artists from the past, bringing you up to date on some of our favorite musicians careers.  Inviting back the likes of Harvey Eyeballs, Tours, Avidd and Seabiscuit to check in on their growth proved a rewarding experience.  Surrounded by this months favorite newbies, the core of our compilation is an eclectic genre whirlwind that will tickle every part of your audio heart.  We are proud, delighted and overwhelmed by the coming of our one year anniversary- and as for year two, Monday marks the start of another DIY onslaught.  [Free Download]  @Dingusonmusic

Soulbound V.10

Soulbound Volume Ten by Various Artists   (New York, New York) *

I am very pleased and honored to have the opportunity to introduce Soulbound Volume 10. It’s my personal first time putting up a post about Soulbound and I feel it’s one of our best yet. All of the artists we feature on Volume 10 are some of my personal favorites and as always, Soulbound is up for free download. Enjoy and many thanks once again to our featured musicians. Soulbound V.9

Soulbound Volume Nine by Various Artists   (New York, New York) *

Soulbound Volume Nine marks the introduction of Leah Lovecat to our staff- and for the first time, I’m not picking all the tracks.  With another amazing set of artists contributing to the free download, our ninth edition is just another step up in a long chronology of DIY history.  As always, we’d like to thank the musicians.  Without them, there is no blog.  Dingus

Soulbound V.8

Soulbound Volume Eight by Various Artists   (March 31, 2012) *

Out monthly collection is back.  Soulbound Eight features some of our favorite songs from the blog this past March and some older as well.  Starting off with an Australian favorite, Post Paint and ending on the concluding notes of The Rare Plants Garden, the compilation holds no standard genre or format.  Instead, view it as a whimsical journey through the global DIY scene.  We’d like to thank all the bands involved for helping us put this together.  As always, it’s free for download off our bandcamp.

Soulbound V.7

Soulbound Volume Seven by Various Artists   (February 29, 2012) *

Man, do I love the end of the month.  Why?  Why?!  Because at the end of every month, my team helps me prepare for our next Soulbound compilation release.  Dubbed “the most important music collection of the modern music era” by music journalist, Andrew Prieto, the Dingus issued collection is an assortment across all genres, all continents, and all brain-wave-lengths.  February’s issue includes a return appearance from one of our recent favorites, Il Abanico, as well as the introduction of Absofacto, Happy Lives, The Great American Novel, Ded Pimpin, Palms and so, so, soso many more.  As always, it’s completely free and downloadable from our bandcamp.

Soulbound V.6

Soulbound Volume Six by Various Artists   (January 31, 2012)

Really, we’re closer to 8 months old, for those who are counting.  None the less, we present to you the sixth installment of our compilation series titled, Soulbound (you can’t trade that shit).  Featuring a brand new Dingus line up, we’ve got another thirteen tracks to wet your mouth with.  Enjoy, friends.
