‘Warmth, touch’ by Sidechained Lovers (January 6, 2012) *
Introducing a lustful guitar into a deep pocketed electronic spree, Sidechained Lovers delivers on round two with their new single, ‘Warmth, touch’. Gifted for the holidays, the New Zealand based duo takes a step back from the microphone to let the instruments (computers) do the talking. Throughout the track, beats twist, re-shape themselves and morph into unrecognizable animals without missing a step. In the end, the song grants complete gratification.

‘Spaces’ by Sidechained Lovers (November 17, 2011)
We don’t celebrate Christmas because there is no god and to think or do otherwise would be detrimental to our species progress (I’m joking, Mom, see you tomorrow). Like Everything but the Girl on crack, reunited with electronic complexities, Sidechained Lovers drop this first single on our heads. Absolutely sculpted, there isn’t much room for imagination, the atmosphere is so finely detailed that there really isn’t much room to do anything other than get completely lost. Currently being interviewed by the staff at Dingus, this duo (also a delightfully happy set of lovers) shows early promise, putting themselves in the perfect position to reinvigorate a rapidly decaying trip-hop genre.
‘Spaces’ by Sidechained Lovers (November 17, 2011) *
New Zealand based duo and couple, Sidechained Lovers are, easiliy, one of the best finds we’ve made here at Dingus. Owning the phrase “derivative without being an imitation” – we see some of our favorite contemporary song-writers layered into a beautiful, tasteful, lush, etc. post-trip-hop declaration. ’Spaces’ is both discerning and daring, absolutely crushing some of the most potent textures available for synthesis, while keeping at the common train of thought, giving it a pop edge.
