Psychotic Teenage Supermodels

1174178518-1Psychotic Teenage Supermodels by Sugarpuss   (Perth, Washington)

Normally I would never do this, but in this instance these self stated album descriptions are far too befitting. “Sugarpuss’s debut EP is a small collection of songs that vary so much from each other in style, subject, and mood that it closely mirrors the unpredictable lava flow of chemicals that occur in the mind of the common psychotic teen:” ‘Masquerade‘, lingers hard, from its western hipster pop verse to its otherworldly smooth sultry chorus, come to Brooklyn, Now, Please? @dingusrecords

Keep Me Up

Keep Me Up by Sunny   (Perth, Australia)

After a night of cold washcloths on my forehead and the shakes, I broke through my fever and found this little gem to turn my day right around. ‘Keep Me Up’ had me tapping my fingers and singing the chorus during the first playback. That rarely happens, however Sunny have written an unbelievably catchy song with an easy chorus to memorize. It’s the perfect combination of ingredients. The simplicity of the lyrics make it absolutely infectious, it’s impossible not to attempt singing the lyrics while you’re listening. Though the song may be about heartbreak, the bedroom pop keeps it light and sweet and leaves you with a bright outlook. So even though my throat may very well be closing up, at least I have an upbeat track to keep me calm. @LeahLovecat

Outside the Province

‘Outside the Province’ by The Flower Drums   (Perth, Australia)

Outside the Province‘ is the first single off the upcoming Flower Drums EP, Suburban Wilderness.  Relying on a catchy swing hook like early Shins recordings amped up, the track rides firmly on the bass, letting vocals and guitars exchange playfully as the song leads to a bridge and concludes triumphantly.  Dingus

Sleigh Bed

‘Sleigh Bed’ by Rainy Day Women   (November 11, 2011) *

Right when you think ‘Sleigh Bed’ couldn’t possibly climax any harder, it takes the mood from jumping joy to being so dramatically excited that you might puke.  From the start, you’ve got a track that pops; a track that calls for an extreme cartoon music video.  I wouldn’t change a thing.
