No One (Best New Music)

No One by Railbird   (Brooklyn, New York) *

Within the indie labyrinth everyone’s a genius, a savant, a unique legionnaire fighting the good fight for DIY music.  Don’t take my sarcasm wrong, we appreciate your effort, but let’s get real for a second.  Very few of you really push yourselves; we know you well you lazy stoner fucks.  Whatever, whatever, I’m off point- Railbird: a band worth its weight in vinyl, a band that puts a warm touch on a intelligent record.  No One is an album that patiently plots its self-induced compulsory structure while delivering completely catchy lines.  Living my life sifting through bandcamp, booking generally unknown acts for generally unknown shows and generally getting one listenable page per hundred can become a bleek affair.  But, you gotta swing to play the game and every once in a while you come across a Railbird.  @Dingusonmusic
