‘Avalon’ by New Beings (May 30, 2011) *
Tomorrow night, you’ll find me over at Public Assembly for the Ben Lear show that Dingus helped promote. But aside from the Lear performance, which is sure to be a homerun, we’ll have the opportunity to see the New Beings. Only recently being familiarized with this band, their only available single, ‘Avalon‘ has me locked in anticipation. The track itself bursts with the kind of laid back vibes that somehow manage to intrude. Pulling together an eclectic rock sound with a more contemporary knack for experimental backlashes, if the New Beings live set is anything like their single, we’re in for a full night.
