deBonton Grab Bag {Various Artists}

a1250188870_2deBonton Grab Bag by Various Artists   (Paris, France)

Here is a collection of strange fun poppy club music from Paris. The collection is brought to you by deBonton, an entity putting out great dance music straight from a city that does that shit right. Their manifesto is fantastic, “deBonton is a world of stupid honest nudity”, they believe that “There’s no victory ceremony at the end of this shit. So live naïve and live now. Cause magic’s real.” It is always great to find a group who has a beautiful and clear direction for the future, these guys are one of em, check it. @dingusrecords

Vera Vera EP

3447952116-1Vera Vera EP by Vera Vera   (Atlanta, Georgia) *

Vera Vera are a personal favorite of mine. I was very excited when I was told of their new EP, simply titled, Vera Vera. The Atlanta based band have taken their electro/garage sound and have further wet my appetite for their upcoming full length. This 5 track album has a CocoRosie feel but in a tolerable way. It’s a bit strange but the pop undertones make it something that you’ll reach for at night. Not enough to send you to sleep but just enough to wind you down. I’m all for having a midnight go to album. It doesn’t surprise me that it happens to be by Vera Vera. @LeahLovecat

Rose Gold EP

2891783050-1Rose Gold EP by Young Holidays   (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)

Young Holidays’ Rose Gold EP is pure dream pop. It’s hazy and kinda noisy. It’s songs for the young and songs for the late night wanderers. If you feel like you fit into that category then perhaps you need to take a listen. This is an album that you’re going to relate to. A younger version of yourself is going to take this to heart and you won’t be able to stop the process. Not that you would want to. Send it spiraling through your veins and pulsing into your head. Colour

1010381927-1Colour by Sounds of System Breakdown   (Dublin, Ireland)

This is kind of wonderful, clean, a group of musicians whom have sonic direction and vision for themselves. Something like LCD soundsystem and Maroon 5, very cool, composed meticulously,  and  rather attractive. Colour has mood, it has action, it has fun, and satisfaction. Here is one that could have come from around the corner in Brooklyn, it has traveled the mighty airwaves to be with you here now, enjoy. @TheSnakeRecords

Some Other Far Away Place

1713436490-1Some Other Faraway Place by Monoville   (Winter Park, Colorado)

Some Other Faraway Place is dreamy lo-fi pop that will stick to your bones. Its seasoned and weighty material set it apart from the other albums floating around  these days. Sometimes it’s easy to get uninspired, writers block can feel like it comes far too often. However, the words begin to flow naturally once you’re listening to something that genuinely makes you feel something. Thanks for bringing the words back, Monoville. [Free Download] @LeahLovecat

Salted Sea

2976244562-1Salted Sea by Glass Hands   (New York, New York)

It’s time for me to float downstream. I’m going to stray from my path and bring you something a little different than the norm. Its a little dark, a little gothy and a little electro.  ’Salted Sea‘ is something to listen to on dark, cold nights. Perhaps this is something you’ll listen to while you’re out adventuring, mapping your way through the streets and back alleys. At least, that’s my recommendation. @LeahLovecat

Tryptique

349383445-1Triptique by Combien Mille Records   (Caen, France)

Combien Mille Records and it’s extensions are a distant cousin it would seem. A lovely blog from France, putting out great DIY music for free, throwing parties, representing the talent, and supporting the community in all the ways we preach here at Dingus.  This most recent release Triptique, is a collaboration from Mr. Zerolex, Sorg, and Fakear, three electronic artists from France whom all have an intelligent approach to the art, drawing from a wide breath of musical influence, and each contributing 2 tracks to the 6 track album. @TheSnakeRecords

Feel The Drip

Feel The Drip by PrismViews   (Detroit, Michigan)

It’s quite obvious that PrismViews are a little off. There is something about them that almost isn’t quite right. It’s that sense of weirdness that makes listening to Feel The Drip strangely frightening. There is something wonderfully distorted that kind of messes with your head and you can honestly say that it’s unlike anything you have ever heard before. It’s disco, it’s pop, it’s a beautiful nightmare. @LeahLovecat

Mystery Pills

Mystery Pills by Mystery Pills   (Rapid City, South Dakota)

It’s a little chilly outside, a little grey, a little solemn. So, it’s time to whip out my laptop to find a little something to compliment this day. Mystery Pills self titled EP fit the mold. I’m not saying that it’s depressing in any way, I’m saying that it’s something you wan’t to listen to on a slow and quiet day. Something that you can have playing that won’t make you unproductive but will enhance the mood. Bring on the cold weather, I’ll wrap myself up in my bulkiest sweater and listen to ‘The Glass Traditions’ while assembling a bookcase. Which actually happened today, successfully. @LeahLovecat

Diamonds

Diamonds by Goodtime   (Dublin/Sweden)

Time to ease into the morning. Diamonds is a track that wakes you up easy, the night is still alive in your eyes as the sun creeps through your window. Goodtime’s lyrics are beautifully heartbreaking, you can feel the emotion pouring out as you listen, eager to know what’s coming next. So don’t get up just yet, stay in bed and enjoy. @LeahLovecat
