The Secret Languages by Drew Smith (February 7, 2012) *
Elaborate and decadent like a five star dessert menue, Drew Smith has put together an acoustic album that shows compositional fortitude and a complete understanding of audio in general. Musically, you can hear just a little bit of Andrew Bird, vocally, you can hear just a little bit of Thom Yorke, and it’s not a bad thing. Sure in abundance this doesn’t work, but The Secret Languages is the product of an inspired generation.
