It’s the single most annoying thing in the DIY music scene. You kids from Nashville telling me how fucking bomb your scene is; a scene that’s been ripping on early Kings of Leon shit for the last 10 years without innovation; without even decent homage. I guess when you live in the south there isn’t much to do but do meth, roll tractors over eachother and spank to the same four piece rock band iterated through all your best friends little brothers. It’s the simple pleasures that get you. Yeah that’s some real hate, don’t worry, I don’t like where I’m from either. So I smile and I nod, yeah they are great, they really rock, you can hear it in those guitar tones, man this sounds like it was recorded in a basement, so cooool. But yo, here’s Meth Dad: and like Jesus will raise the dead, Churched will rally the Nashville 1% – those looking for some real audio enlightenment. Don’t believe me, then don’t listen, Kings of Peon starts at 6:30 @ the chili fest. Part audio art masterpiece (think Fitter Happier on a horrifying DMT trip) part anti-pop manifesto (think over-saturated AnCo) Churched is an album that will challenge its neighbors dragging a few of them, maybe, out of the Nashville Dark Ages. ”…ejaculated all over my brain” what?
