Like Fever Ray fused pop with ambient trip hop, NIJae fuses pop with soul. The vocals are stunning, the music- infectious and overall- quite lucid. From the very first track, I was completely seduces by the forward nature aesthetic, the blunt, brutal honesty in sound. As the album progresses, this honest aesthetic only continues and grows, leaving behind a product of sheer enjoyment. At the end of the day, it’s the finale track ‘Purple Reign’ that gets me going.
