Koda Vista by Joywave (Rochester, New York)
Though this post is going up at 9:30am, it was written at 2:30am. I couldn’t help but get comepletely engulfed by Joywave. As most of you know, it’s CMJ week in New York. I have taken this time to see a lot of amazing bands, but the band that I felt really stood out were Joywave. Their live shows are extremely captivating and energetic, if you don’t dance during their set then their is something wrong with you. I’m sorry but, it’s true. I found myself getting lost in their music, it was such a great feeling and one that I wish would occur more often. Their electronic sound is absolutely infectious. Koda Vista is such a strong EP, while listening to it I was reliving their live set. It’s very rare that I come back from a show and immediately want to write about what I just saw. Joywave have thoroughly impressed me and it genuinely pains me to know that their next show won’t be for another couple of months. Perhaps I can talk them into doing a private set for my housewarming party. @LeahLovecat
