Disaster Sounds by Kid/Astro (Boston, Massachusetts)
Released their debut album Disaster Sounds on cassette via their own independent label Seagreen Records. We’re gonna have to come up with a new name for this subgenre of pop rock besides lo-fi or surf or noise rock or punk soft. With all these super high vocals layered triple or quadruple times over one another. Dirty live amp sounds, was it poorly recorded or was it poorly recorded? Noise pop is pretty good. Anyhow Kid/Astro fits right in there. Disaster Sounds has a nice fuzz. The totally popped out high male vocals don’t grab me as much as the grunged out guitars. Pretty good pop punk feel, the band is solid, the songs drive themselves forward hard, would be fun to check out this Boston band live. @CigaretteBreath
