I’ll be honest, I really wanted to wimp out on you guys today. I wanted to take the day off, not write, not listen to music, not do anything. Then, as cliche as it sounds, I went against myself and listened to music. Swank Motel had sent me a message earlier today about their new EP. Having already established my fandom for them, I knew that even if I didn’t write, I would be in for a treat. I got home, turned on my laptop and started listening. I don’t know why but I felt an immediate connection with ‘Remember’. Maybe it had something to do with it being the first track but a huge part of me believes otherwise. This song could have been written about anything but the smooth vocals, the polished guitars made me have that “moment”. You know the one. The one where you sit down, turn on an album and then without knowing it, you’ve laid your head back, closed your eyes and had a deeply connective….moment. It gets in your veins and moves from your fingers to your toes, you’ve listened to something worth hearing. Thankfully for me, I get to share these moments with you. Swank Motel have bottled up summer, the light, the love, the energy and have given it to you in the form of an EP. It’s quite the gift to be dishing out, so please, open it carefully and let it seep into your skin. @LeahLovecat
