‘October’ by Kings (New York, New York) *
“My bones are tired, my mind is tired, my tear ducts are tired,” laments first sightings of the lesbian folk threesome from Brooklyn, Kings. Though the bands personal struggles provide the setting for life’s silver linings, and though the group has captured a level of emotion in just one single, surpassing most albums, ‘October‘ remains completely open to interpretation, to personal investment. But in fact, the most impressive quality of all truly is the sonic depth extracted from the rudimentary instrumentation. @Dingusonmusic
