Staying is Nowhere by Andreas Brandal (Portland, Oregon)
There’s no better way to start my day than with a package full of physical submissions (from Field Hymns). The only reasons we at Dingus tolerate anything but, is because we understand that the DIY scene is an emerging scene- without full resources. But, tonight I had the pleasure of coming home, and popping on the pit of snakes that is the atmospheric jest we now know as Andreas Brandal (real persons name or not). Pulsing on a miniscule scale, tiny flutters and dramatic washes define the soundscape keeping the listener alive in an otherwise dead as dirt world. From start to finish, Staying is Nowhere is a prime example of DIY ambience, marksmanship and verisimilitude. @Dingusonmusic
