Well last night I went to bed around 8am. Now it’s three in the afternoon on a show day and the juices are flowing as I climb out from under the sheets because today is Sour Stash. Dingus has been teaming up with The Snake to bring you free DIY shows all year and it’s Harvey Eyeballs‘ time to run some thunder. The Jean Jackets will be co-headlining and releasing their record- a record recorded at the famous Mama Coco’s Funky Kitchen. This morning, the first single leaked on their basists Soundcloud site and on the bands tumblr; an old track we know from demo but easily one of my favorites ‘Myth of Sisyphus‘ shows off a puffed chest while letting individuality shine within insecurity. Alfonso Velez and Carroll will be opening the show starting at 930pm but be sure to get their early, you’ll want to nurture that buzz for the first set. [Facebook Event] @Dingusonmusic
WEEKLY COLUMNS
- Manifesto
With technology growing exponentially, personal computing is challenging the recording business and the internet is challenging the publishing business. Now more than ever, we see the pool of music and design growing deeper. But as always, the more music there is, the harder it is to find what really matters.
Dingus is dedicated to the search. It's here, on this humble blog that we shed light on bedroom artists in their most defining moments. If you want what's popular today, Dingus is not the blog for you. But, if you want what's fringe, pure and passionate then you've somehow landed on the right URL. So check back daily and enjoy your fellow peers' endeavors. -
