Pinnacle by Wakan Tanka (United Kingdom)
Ok, the concept behind this track is something that I found brilliant, so I hope I explain everything correctly. ‘Pinnacle‘ is The ASIP Places Series. ASIP (A Strangely Isolated Place) is a ambient/electronica label/community and this is the concept behind their series: the artists release a track inspired by their own “strangely isolated place” or place of escape. I felt an immediate connection with ‘Pinnacle’. I may not know the exact reason why ‘Pinnacle’ (named after a local pub) was chosen as a source of inspiration but I feel like in a way, I can relate. Wakan Tanka (Jordan de Graaf and Nathan Cooke) have put together a year’s worth of travel, experiences and ever-changing perception into 3 minutes and 57 seconds.
