Somewhere between the instrumental innovation of In Rainbows and the delicate stutter of Narrow Stairs sits American Wolf. The very sound that the rock group is calls attention to the dilema of calling the group a rock group in the first place. Musically, they aren’t trying to “rock” you. If anything, it’s exactly the opposite, and if you find yourself drifting off, only know that you were meant to. Tales of Kamanakera is an album that takes its time, knows its lines and frames an entire genre. The writing is poetic and thoughtful- completely aware of itself at all times without posing judgement. @Dingusonmusic
