Heavy Hearts EP by Family Photos (Brooklyn, New York)
Family Photos had me hooked with their doleful lyrics and their honest appeal. I found them to be somewhat bittersweet and without really noticing, I found myself playing ‘How To Fake A Smile’ about 10 times in a row. Heavy Hearts shows an enormous amount of potential. Family Photos are a rather new band and to have a debut EP containing songs that sound so well arranged, so wonderfully put together, it’s highly commendable. I love that their songs are about feeling down. It’s that bit of humanity, the showcasing of a persons scars that become so appealing. I feel like I can relate to each of their tracks on some sort of personal level. I am looking forward to anything else Family Photos release, if it’s anything like Heavy Hearts then we are all in for a real treat. Lovecat
