Pre-Columbians by Edelweiss   (Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania)

A handful of months ago I had the pleasure of seeing Edelweiss play live. For those of you who have never heard of Edelweiss, here are some quick facts:

  • Edelweiss are a ‘math rock’ band from Pennsylvania
  • Their debut EP is called Pre-Columbians
  • Each band member is under the age of 20
  • They have 6, 503 ‘likes’ on Facebook (I don’t know, I thought that was interesting.)

I’ll be honest, I rather enjoyed making that list. It reminded me of being in 10th grade biology, I can’t say I paid any attention but I’m pretty sure we made lists. I digress, let’s get back on topic. Edelweiss are one of the bands scheduled to play the Surprise Attack! Music Festival and they recently played an acoustic performance of their song ‘Icarus’ for The Village Basement. I’m almost jealous at how talented these boys are. At such a young age they are making strides. I definitely didn’t have that much ambition at the age of 17. Edelweiss are truly a band to watch. They are fresh, unique, everything you could hope for in a young band. Lovecat
