Tangles by Crawl Babies (Brooklyn, New York)
There is something kind of odd about Crawl Babies. Almost as if some wires don’t exactly connect. Something about their music that makes me scratch my head and wonder just what it is that has attracted me to them. Whatever it is, I like it a lot (personally, I think it’s their use of the Wurlitzer). Tangles is full of these offbeat concoctions. Mixtures of surf and indie rock that are fused together to create an album that is strangely addicting. I visited the bands Tumblr and found a video of them playing ‘Heart Attack’ at Spike Hill. I very much liked the idea of their drummer standing up. I knew there was something different. Lovecat
