Parallels by Black City Lights (March 19, 2012)
Black City Lights have released an eerily seducing debut EP. The title track off Parallels showcase Black City Lights ambient fueled sound. However, instead of defining this EP purely as “ambient”, I believe the term “dreamwave” is more appropriate. Calum Robb and Julia Catherine Parr are the duo behind the hypnotic synths and sweet harmonies. They have captured the glowing feeling of late night hand holding all within 30 or so minutes. It’s infectious and illuminating. If only it were possible to bottle its sound in a mason jar, only to unscrew the lid and release it into the hazy air. Lovecat
