Let Go of Me (Best New Music)

Let Go of Me by Bosco   (March 6, 2012) *

Bosco’s formal EP is a hybrid between the tribal riffs of These New Puritans and some ephemeral, more traditional sounding Fever Ray (or maybe Portishead, I can’t decide) vocal timbres.  Let Go of Me feels like a cleansing from the moment the two minute and ten second mark strikes; when guitars ring in, like Gandalf charging down the mountain to save Helm’s Deep.   If Brittany Bosco has not scored and directed a piece of pure DIY brilliance, than I’d have to second guess the entire point of my blog.  Along with the release comes a beautifully shot video, adding to the heartbreaking aesthetic. On the side, check her out, headlining the May Meme Movement showcase, Medication.
