‘Spaces’ by Sidechained Lovers (November 17, 2011)
We don’t celebrate Christmas because there is no god and to think or do otherwise would be detrimental to our species progress (I’m joking, Mom, see you tomorrow). Like Everything but the Girl on crack, reunited with electronic complexities, Sidechained Lovers drop this first single on our heads. Absolutely sculpted, there isn’t much room for imagination, the atmosphere is so finely detailed that there really isn’t much room to do anything other than get completely lost. Currently being interviewed by the staff at Dingus, this duo (also a delightfully happy set of lovers) shows early promise, putting themselves in the perfect position to reinvigorate a rapidly decaying trip-hop genre.
