‘The Penny Hymnal’ by Grey Visions

Grey Visions is Jack Phinney’s solo project when he’s not recording with the Jean Jackets.  ’The Penny Hymnal’ has that charming acoustic aesthetic while relying on some brutally enlightened, early 20-something year old lyrics to unpack the heavier messages.  The tracks seems to be playing with themselves, unaware of some of the more serious modern accusations and conditions it shines light on.
