Vicious People EP by Michael Parallax (March 30, 2011) *
After recently enjoying the Hartzine/Beko-DSL compilation, we’ve begun primary investigations. Among them, Michael Paralax, track two, side A. On the compilation, he shows a party driven electronica that pumps up and births nostalgia. But on album, there is a more introspective version of the artist. A version that patiently plans album swells that move the soul. ’Dark and Lonesome Bones’ may not be the most catchy or melodic track on the EP, but it resonates so deeply, it holds nearly all the water and gives value to the rest.
