Armé d’un rêve by das (November 8, 2011) *
Armé d’un rêve is a revisitation to happier music times. Days when is was popular to sound hopeful, even cheerful. With catchy pop horns and a light hearted acoustic instrumentation, Das manages to get strangely serious in a genre that is nearly dead (maybe that’s why they’re serious). Musicianship shows through the cracks as the players control themselves and stick to the score. The album is a traditional one, in the sense that it contains twelve real songs, no ambient intermissions, no random artistic interpretation.
