As part of a truly great segment titled ‘Pocket Show’ on OrestiMusic.com, Alfonso Velez recently gave a rendition of his slow-dance ‘Barcelona Birds’. His self-titled album, which was released earlier this year has managed to hold it’s place on my ipod, something not many seem to do now-a-days, for a solid 3 months. The nostalgia for grass between my toes and a bright sun over head that pumps through the headphones when one of Alfonso’s songs surprises me on shuffle is guaranteed to give me goose bumps. It seemed back in February, at the albums release, that he was attempting to conjure up the summer early. Well, now it’s here and the tunes fit beautifully.
